The author intends to determine the degree of presence of the Cyrillo-Methodian graphemicorthographic and linguistic tradition in Old Serbian liturgy books of XV – VXIII century. Three manuscripts of different chronological and territorial provenance were used as the corpus for the study: Liturgy book of Mount Atos monasterial grounds from St. Peter Koriški church (Kosovo and Metohia, 16. century), Vodičnik liturgy book (Montenegro, 16. Century) and Liturgy book of Krušedol monastery (Vojvodina, 17. century). The study was limited only to introductory sections of liturgy books (which state the rules for recording entries into the liturgy book and declamation of the book during liturgy), since the remaining sections of the liturgy books – with the exception of several stereotipical formulas – contain only pesonal names. The study showed that the introductory sections of the analysed Old Serbian liturgy books were written by applying a highly standardized Resavian ortography (as expected, taking into account the chronological origin of the manuscript) and using the Serbian-Slavic language (as expected, taking into account the genre, i.e. content and goal of the manuscript). Since the content of the introductory sections of liturgy books is typical, and since the majority of the manuscrpts originates from XVI and XVII century, this sort of situation is expected to be found in other manuscripts as well.en_US
