Abstract: | We present results regarding indium lines obtained by electron spectroscopy and laser induced breakdown spectroscopy. The incident electron energy is E 0 = 20 eV within the scattering angle of θ = 10°in energy loss spectrum obtained by an electron spectrometer. The plasma plume formed at the surface of an indium target has been achieved using the Nd:YAG laser and its optical emission spectrum has been acquired using streak camera. The most intense In(I) lines of the spectrum at 303.9, 325.6, 410, 451 nm are detectable by both methods, however, with different resolution. The optical diagnostics of the indium lines could be useful for detecting indium in electric waste, because the detecting device could be made portable. © 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. |
