Abstract: Employment, more precisely, the working‐legal position of teachers at the faculty, is different in relation to other fields of work, bearing in mind the specifics of the teaching‐scientific activity they perform. This specificity is reflected as a difference in rights and duties, but also in the special conditions of the establishment, duration and termination of a professorʹs employment at higher education institutions. This also means special regulations that regulate the most important issues arising from the performance of the teaching title. The subject of the work will be precisely the specifics of the status of teachers at the faculty, the regulations for which this status is defined, and especially some of the controversial issues that they have received on the actualities of the last few years. In addition to this, issues such as justifiable reasons for dismissal of teachers, vocations and employment, stability of employment, prolongation of working life, etc. will be analyzed in particular. The specificity of the employment relationship and the status of teachers at the faculty does not mean the exclusion of the application of the most important international standards in the field of labor, against. International labor standards in this profession also provide protection of the basic rights of workers, and especially those, we seem especially vulnerable in recent years in all professions. Prohibition of discrimination, respect for dignity at work, protection of labor rights are just some of the issues that still need to be addressed. The authors will analyze all of the above issues, present some solutions from comparative law, and also provide suggestions for improving and overcoming some of the controversial issues
