Title: Junak i njegov identitet u romanu Vere i zavere Aleksandra Tišme
Authors: Perić Komnenović, Emina
Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: The basic aim of the paper is to examine the way of shaping literary characters and their identities in Aleksandar Tišma’s novel Faith and Conspiracy. The analysis is based on the poststructuralist theory and the poststructuralist approach to a literary work, which implies the use of multiple methods ‒ hermeneutic-interpretative, deductive and comparative method. The main result of the research is the discovery of the relationship between constant reshaping of the identity of heroes and Jacques Lacan’s psychoanalytic theory, as well as pointing to the Tišma’s literary performances that confirm Lacan’s interpretation of the subject's split in the signifier. It is also concluded that the fates of the characters in the novel point to the fact that each individual is shaped by an ideology and cannot form their own identity outside the network formed by a ruling ideology.
