O TERMINU „AQUARII“ U FRONTINOVOM DELU „DE AQUIS URBIS ROMAE“

Abstract

In his peace "De Aquis Urbis Romae" on several places, Frontin mentions term aquarii. This termhas been used to mark the members of the water supply service. They have been mentioned in the parts of text where he writes about measures for measuring water usage and sizes of water pipes or aqueduct's capacity. Particularly he mentions them in the parts of text dedicated to the problems of losing the water due to stealing or other misconducts. However, some other sources and texts are giving some other meaning to this term, so this work will be dedicated to determining on which groups of persons this term is related to.
