Abstract

By adoption of the Law on Public Notaries of the Republic of Serbia the public notaries institution has been reaffirmed, and public notary services has been taken a significant place in contemporary legal transactions. Bearing in mind that the most important legal transactions have to be undertaken in the form of a notary public record, the notary services of drafting legal documents are of particular practical importance. In addition, notaries are authorized to issue notarial certificates, to make records of certain facts important for the circulation of goods and services, as well as to carry out notarial autentification. All these services are at the core of notarial activity and are of particular importance for legal transactions, in general, thus are the subject of further analysis in the paper.
