Title: ULOGA NOVINARSKE PROFESIJE U PRUŽANjU MEDIJSKIH USLUGA
Authors: Vučković, Jelena
Issue Date: 2018
Abstract: Providing media services is impossible without a journalist. Therefore, their legal and social position is crucial because it directly affects the quality of media services. By quality media service, we mean complete, accurate and timely media information. That is why the position of the journalist is essential. It should enable the independence of a journalist who must be legally protected, but which must not be abused, and must be accompanied by journalist's responsibility, which should be transparently processed. The media market is subject to political manipulation and the pressure of political power. Privatization of the media has led to the shutting down of smaller media, and a large number of journalists have lost their jobs and have been left without moral and material satisfaction. This additionally affects their subordinate position in society. The only way out of the political, social and informational chaos is through precise, transparent and clear legal procedures that apply because the state stands behind them. Once again it is confirmed that the law without state becomes only paper and a state without rights, mere power and tyranny.
