Abstract

The topic of this paper is the position and role of one kind of ethics boards in the national law – Ethics Committee of Serbia. The first part of the paper is dedicated to the analysis of the concept, scope, origin and types of ethics boards in Serbia. The second part deals with the issues of the appointment of the members of the Ethics Committee of Serbia and their mandates. In the third section, the author reviews the question of its jurisdiction dividing it into a paralel and exclusive jurisdiction. In the concluding part of the paper the author sums up the results achieved researching this topic and points to some deficiencies in the laws that regulate this matter which should be eliminated in future.
