Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the situation of the Serbian diaspora language in the context of the process of a language shift and to present an overview of the current phase of the language shift process in which the ethnolinguistic community of Serbs in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt was located at the time of the research. In the paper, we also look at theoretical approaches to the problem of language shift as one of the key concepts of contact linguistics from the aspect of communication of a bilingual speaker
