Сажетак: | The main objective of the present article is to analyse the phenomenon of identity through the protagonists of some of the most famous novels of the Spanish post-war literature: The Time of Silence by Luis Martín-Santos and The Marks of Identity by Juan Goytisolo. The analysis of identity of these protagonists will part from the poststructuralist perspective that stands for the concept of identity which is symbolic and social construct. With this presumption it will be shown that identity is directed and constructed by the mechanisms of the Franco’s dictatorship that is based on the institutionalized identity. In this way, the present analysis will demonstrate how the writers of the post-Civil-war era created their protagonists as the reflections of the mechanisms, behaviours and discourse that were violent in their roots, which brings them close to the concept of «homicidal identities» created by Asan Maalouf. The so-called «homicidal identities» relate to the political and social conflicts, ethical destitution, divisions based on ideological differences and the social hierarchy that implies misunderstanding, silence and legitimate terror. |
