Сажетак: Interns are persons without appropriate work experience, which would enable them to independently perform tasks at a specific workplace. In order to perform their duties completely independently, it is necessary for them to complete an internship under the supervision of their more experienced colleague, i.e. mentor, who should train them for independent work in the profession during the internship. The Labour Law does not define the position of interns in too much detail, while the situation is different in the public sector. In the public sector, the position of interns is regulated by special legal and by-laws as well as special collective agreements. People who are engaged as interns on the basis of a work contract outside of employment appear more and more often as interns. Formally, they are not apprentices, but in fact they are.
