Abstract: The problem considered in this paper relates to the correct modelling of the sliding bolt connection in the strength analysis of the tank wagon in accordance to the standard BS EN 12663-2:2010. Due to the complexity of the geometry and the FEA model with large number of contact pairs and bolt connections, it is necessary to find the easiest way for modelling bolt connections, which will fully correspond to the bolt connections on real model.
