Title: NEKE POETSKE OSOBENOSTI U ROMANU „CRVENE MAGLE“ DRAGIŠE VASIĆA
Authors: Kandić, Milica
Issue Date: 2023
Abstract: The paper discusses some peculiarities of the novel Crvene Magle (Red Mists) by Dragiša Vasić in the light of the poetry of a lyrical expressionist novel. We select and process examples from Vasić’s corpus related to the most prominent characteristics of a lyrical novel, primarily the world of oneirism, lyricism, and sensuality, as well as poetic images, one of the most significant of which is contained in the title of the novel itself. The analysis of characteristic images (red mists, worms, snakes) shows how the dreamy, inner, and emotional world of the main character Aleksije Jurišić overpowers the world of outer (novelistic) reality, indicating his complete mental breakdown. The interweaving of the outer and inner worlds is shown to be problematic at many levels, both for the world of the novel and for the world of the protagonist himself. In addition, the paper investigates the spatial-temporal dimension, description, fabulation, hypersensitivity of the hero, and orientation towards the inner world, pointing to their relationship and harmony.
