Сажетак: This paper presents the findings of a study examining the way in which speakers of Kosovo-Resava dialect converge to the Standard Serbian variety. In line with this objective, spontaneous speech of 20 subjects was examined for phonetic convergence. In particular, stress shift to proclitic was assessed due to the fact that, fundamentally, it does not function as a salient feature of the said regional variety. Additionally, we examined stress placement in verbs since the distribution of stress differs, to an extent, in the observed varieties. The obtained results point to the conclusion that, in the speech of our research subjects, stress transfer is realized in only 36,36% of cases. Despite the relatively low percentage, there were no inconsistencies in terms of the distribution of this feature. Namely, in the speech of those subjects who exhibited this tendency, the stress was invariably shifted. Likewise, in the speech of those informants who showed no such tendency, lexical stress was retained in all negative verb forms. Nevertheless, certain inconsistencies were observed when it comes to stress distribution in grammatical forms such as verbs, where, despite the greater percentage (65,39%) of words where both the accent place and type were in accordance with the prescribed norm, regional forms were also attested
