GRAMATIČKE MODIFIKACIJE KAO MEHANIZAM MODIFIKOVANJA PAREMIJA U NOVINSKOM DISKURSU ŠPANSKOG I SRPSKOG JEZIKA

Abstract

The focus of analysis in the present paper is on modified paroemias in Spanish and Serbian newspaper discourse, wherein grammatical modifications are observed as a mechanism of alteration. The analysis has been made on a corpus of a total of 292 Spanish and 330 Serbian paroemias. The alterations occurring in this type of modification affect the morphological aspects of the elements constituting the canonical form of paroemia, as well as the syntactic relationships among these elements. The analysis reveals that these changes are directly influenced by the context. Some of the most noticeable grammatical alterations validated by our analysis include altering the gender of one of the elements, reordering the element position, paraphrasing, changing verb tense, adjusting verb aspect, omitting or adding the verb, adapting the sentence type based on meaning and form, and refining the relationship type in which the sentences are positioned, among other.
