ARHEOLOGIJA DEČJIH SEĆANjA U KONTEKSTU FENOMENA FANTAZIJE U UMETNOSTI

Abstract

The aim of the research is to shed light on the possibilities that a childhood image can possess in the context of fantasy in art. Archeology is, therefore, a metaphor for moving towards childhood, but not in the sense of an ’antique store’ of personal memories and simplified associations/elementary evocation of events. Our archaeological endeavor is not an escape from reality, it takes place in the context of fantasy, reverie as a creative ambiance. We start our journey towards childhood images from the perspective of the phenomenology of imagination of Gaston Bachelard, including other theories, which point to the territories of children’s recollections in the fantasy space. It is a reflection on the phenomenon of fantasy that goes a step further in relation to psychology and psychoanalysis (and fantasy as a product of repression), in favor of imagination as the beginning of liberation (which here, of course, does not mean the absence of influences from the mentioned scientific fields). Therefore, we approach childhood as a topic for reverie/fantasy and, consequently, as an environment of artistic inspiration.
