Slušanje muzike – gledište učenika mlađih razreda osnovne škole

Abstract

The field of listening to music represents a fundamental activity in the process of music education, but also in education in general. The goal of the teaching process in this field is to develop students' attention capacity and the ability to listen actively (with a task), which also develops musical memory. By listening to music, students experience strong musical impressions, but also learn how to notice, distinguish and understand the expressive means of music, as well as how to understand music. The paper presents a study conducted on a sample of third- and fourthgrade students from three primary schools in Užice, Serbia (n = 406). Theaim of the study was to examine their opinions regarding listening to music in music culture classes. The research used descriptive and theoretical analysis methods, and survey and content analysis as research techniques. The results show that students do not have the opportunity to listen to music in every music culture class and that they would like this activity to be represented to a greater extent in music culture classes. Also, a large percentage of students stated that they prefer listening to instrumental compositions in music culture classes compared to children's songs. The conclusion raises the question of how to implement music listening activities in younger primary school grades, and the methodological implications relate to the need for a systematic approach to music listening activities in order to achieve the goals of music culture classes.
