Сажетак: In this study, β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) was employed as a host molecule to explore its inclusion complex formation with 8,9-dihydroxy-2H-chromeno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(3H)-dione (CPD), a bioactive chromeno-pyrimidine derivative. The host–guest interaction was systematically investigated using spectroscopic techniques, including NMR, IR, and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The spectral data confirmed the formation of the β-CD-CPD inclusion complex and revealed notable changes in chemical shifts and absorption characteristics upon complexation. The inclusion mode and stoichiometry of the complex were further elucidated using Job’s plot method, which indicated a 2:1 molar ratio between β-CD and CPD. These findings demonstrate the successful encapsulation of CPD within the hydrophobic cavity of β-CD, potentially enhancing its solubility and stability. This study provides valuable insight into the molecular interaction between β-CD and CPD, offering a foundation for future applications in drug delivery and formulation development. The enhanced physicochemical properties of the complex suggest improved pharmacokinetic behavior, making it a promising candidate for posible therapeutic application.
