Abstract: The analysis of A Tomb for Boris Davidovich within this research starts from the methodology of meteoropoetic reading, which pertains to the recognition of the role of meteorological, here winter, literary signs in the context of constructing the work’s poetics. Considering that, in the development of modernist novel writing, especially in Andrić’s works, the representation of winter has become a specific literary space for coding epistemological, ontological, and ideological signs of the epoch, we will observe how in this work by Kiš the status of the winter paradigm is maintained, but now, in line with epochal shifts, it semantically and symbolically expands, as a way to indicate those shifts. Therefore, the research will aim to show the revelation of winter in moments of its presence in absence (in the domain of metatextuality and the beginning of the text) and abolition in presence (in the domain of textuality, more precisely, at the edges of the text). There, in the meteoropoetics of the novel, the poetics of Kiš’s discourse will be recognized. Тhrough the insight that winter, when it is published in the text, is always recognized as a factor of a specific trinity of winter-death-camp.
