Abstract

This paper addresses the obligations of notaries to apply conflict-of-law rules, determine the content of applicable foreign law, and apply that law in situations where they draw up notarial acts involving transactions with an international element. Particularly, the author deals with the issue of whether the notary is obliged to provide advice to parties in accordance with applicable foreign law.
