Abstract

It is very difficult to determine when the first social activities that would be close to the concept of modern sport, appeared. The idea of sport implies an awereness of improving oneself and one’s abilities through physical exercise and competition with oneself and others. That is why the germ from which sport was conceives is old as human society. In that sense, the idea of competition, close to the concept of sport, begins with the dawn of civilization, within mythological frameworks, religious rituals, and ancient forms of dance and play.
