REČENIČNA LINEARIZACIJA U „LJETOPISU CRKOVNOM“ ANDRIJE ZMAJEVIĆA

Abstract

The paper analyzes sentence linearization in the corpus of the first volume of the Љетопис црковни (eng. Church Chronicle) from the second half of the 17th century. Sentence linearization is interpreted in light of the development of syntactic configurability and syntactic transitivity. The positioning of the subject, predicate, and object in the language of Andrija Zmajević is discussed. Two-part (SV, VO, ViO), three-part (SVO, SViO, VOiO), and four-part (SVOiO) sentence structures were isolated and analyzed. The results confirm the fact that syntactic configurability is a phase category. The SV model is distinguished by its frequency as the basic one in all sentence structures, while the almost equal frequency ratio of the VO/OV and ViO/iOV models reflects still immature processes in the field of sentence linearization, but also the development of transitivity.
