Abstract: The contemporary labour market is characterized by intensive changes caused by globalization, digitalization, technological development, and economic crises, as a result of which the standard employment relationship is increasingly giving way to various flexible and non-standard forms of work engagement. Non-standard forms of work represent forms of work that deviate from the traditional model of employment based on an open-ended employment contract, full-time working hours, and work performed on the employer’s premises. This group includes fixed-term work, part-time work, seasonal and occasional work, remote work, platform work, self-employment, and other forms of flexible work engagement. The subject of this paper is the analysis of the justification for regulating new forms of work in contemporary labour law, with particular emphasis on the impact of labour flexibilization on their emergence and development, as well as on the role of international and European legal sources in their normative regulation.
