dc.description.abstract© 2020 The concept of cycle energy (CE) was introduced in the chemical literature as early as in the 1970s. In this paper, three theorems are proven, showing the dependence of CE on the size of the corresponding cycle. Cycles of size 4r+2 and 2r+1 increase CE, whereas cycles of size 4r decrease CE. Some generalizations of these results are also offered.-
