The paper identifies the factors that are relatively consistently correlated with teachers’ attitudes towards working with pupils with additional support needs. It also provides interpretations of lack of connection between attitudes and several other factors. In a study conducted on a sample of teachers, the connection between attitudes towards working with pupils with disabilities and teacher-related variables (level of education, years of teaching experience, professional development, teaching experience with pupils with disabilities, self-assessment of teaching efficiency and self-assessment of competence to establish a satisfactory relationship with these pupils) was examined. It was concluded that encouraging teachers to trust their abilities could be the safest way to form positive attitudes in this phase of development of inclusive education in Serbia.en_US
