Title: Zavičajni prostor u „Hronici moje varoši“ Momčila Nastasijevića i romanu „Nišči“ Vidosava Stevanovića
Authors: Matić, Aleksandra
Issue Date: 2021
Abstract: The paper deals with the imagination of the homeland, based on the modernistic recontextualization of the mythical-folklore pattern, in Momcilo Nastasijević’s short stories collection Hronika moje varoši and in Vidosav Stevanović’s novel Nišči. The aim of the paper is to point out the mythopoetic meanings of toponyms and microtoponyms, which form a fictional map of “impure” localities of the homeland, ontologically autonomous in relation to the real world and imbued with special semantic layers. Considering that the space is inextricably permeated with faces and events in the analyzed literary works, the paper also deals with the relationship between spatial characteristics and mental, moral, biological weaknesses of the locals, due to which an aura of “evil fate” is created over the homeland.
