dc.description.abstract | The New industry strategy for Europe puts the single market at its core, as one of the fundamentals of Europe’s industrial transformation. To make the single market work for all, EU law puts in place common rules to eliminate barriers and facilitate the circulation of goods and services across the EU. These rules can give the expected effects only if their application is ensured. In the field of services, there is great potential that could be realized by better application of existing and adoption of new rules on key instruments for ensuring freedom of movement of services, namely the Services Directive and the Directive on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications. This is the reason why the paper pays attention to the mentioned directives, but primarily through the analysis of the rules contained in other related documents that should ensure proper implementation of rules on services that are already in force. These are the rules that regulate the procedure of notification of requests for access and provision of services, define the principle of proportionality and a single contact point, in a more complete and somewhat different way than it was done before. | en_US |
