Abstract

The paper discusses the current situation in the service sector in the field of higher education in Serbia, as well as possible directions for future development in this area. The great social significance of the service activity within this sector certainly imposes the necessary need to consider the potential directions of its future development, as well as a critical analysis of the principles on which it inevitably rests. Therefore, considerable attention is paid to the analysis of the Strategy for the Development of Education and Upbringingin in the Republic of Serbia until 2030, which was adopted by the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the middle of last year. Numerous temptations that our higher education is facing today, as well as the potential for further development of this field in the future, represent more than a serious challenge. Healthy and new foundations for the development of service activities in the field of higher education must be based on valid principles in order to ensure that the future development of our society is based on the undoubted foundations of a democratic, modern and successful community.
