Abstract

In this paper, the focus of the author is the technology transfer as a positive effect of spillover of foreign direct investments. The importance of high technology for the economic growth and development of modern countries has defined this topic. Technological progress contributes to productivity growth and is one of the key factors that determine the competitiveness of modern states. With the productivity growth, the costs of production of domestic companies are reduced. Technological innovations increase the production possibilities of the economy, and in addition they can influence the change of the economic structure.
