The Republic of Serbia does not have a long tradition related to conciliation service in collective labour disputes. This paper analyzes courtbased and out of court conciliation, starting from beginnings to the present situation in conciliation services, as well as the institutional framework in which such services were first applied and where conciliation services are now provided. We concluded that the current legal framework in this field has not been used to its full potential. Main reasons being: low level of social dialogue, weak trade unions and the State that is not interested enough in labour relations. In conclusion, author propose ways in which the situation could be improved so that the advantage of the conciliation service could be fully appreciated.en_US
