Corporate social responsibility is part of the broader concept of caring for the well-being of the social community in which the company operates. The evolutionary path of the principles of corporate social responsibility is still not over. This state of affairs is evidenced by the absence of a single and comprehensive definition of corporate social responsibility. The cross-border movement of capital and the expansion of the business of multinational companies to different investment destinations also led to the adoption of requirements for socially responsible business operations of companies, their care not only about gaining profit, but also about social well-being, human rights and the environment. Bearing in mind the importance that foreign direct investments have for the economic development of the Republic of Serbia, the focus of the paper is the social responsibility of foreign investors operating on its territory. The goal is to find answer to the question of whether foreign investors in the Republic of Serbia apply the principle of corporate social responsibility in their business and what is the impact of such business on the social well-being of the environment, on the protection of the environment and human rights.en_US
