Abstract

The paper analyzes the issue of the human right to privacy and the integral area of personal data protection. First, the genesis of the development of the human right to privacy is analyzed. Then, through the prism of modern tendencies, contemporary social reality and the attitude towards these rights can be observed. As historical moments are important for understanding, from a theoretical aspect, the influence of social turmoil and the development of the right to privacy are pointed out. Through modern processes, the influence that technology, the development of the Internet and social networks have on the degree of threat to the right to privacy is highlighted. The existence of the so-called the paradox of privacy. On the one hand, efforts are being made in the normative and political sense to limit the uncontrolled use of personal data. In particular, sensitive personal data is taken into account. However, on the other hand, there is no clear awareness among citizens about the need to protect personal data. In this sense, the analysis and research of the paradox of privacy is of great importance in creating solutions and considering services in the field of personal data protection.
