Recent research studies have shown a positive correlation between fine motor skills and speech development in preschool children. Children with specific language impairments have less developed gross and fine motor skills, while developed fine motor efficiency is a strong predictor of writing achievement and academic achievement in general. The purpose of this study is to determine and examine the effects of the phonetic gymnastics program on the development of fine motor skills in preschool-aged children. The research was conducted on a sample of thirty respondents, children aged four. For the purpose of this research, the test battery BOT-2 (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition) was used, i.e. subtests: fine motor integration and manual dexterity. After the initial assessment, a program of phonetic gymnastics and fine motor skills was conducted using an integrated approach, using planned learning situations (PSU). Thereafter, the final assessment was conducted. The research has led to statistically significant results and highlighted the importance of implementing integrated approach programs which could enhance the development in early childhood.en_US
