dc.description.abstract | The subject of the paper is the morpho-semantic analysis of the noun Africa and its word formatives. The corpus was excerpted from the dictionary Rečnik srpskoga jezika, published by Matica srpska (2011). By conducting morphemic analysis, the entries have been divided into five syntactic categories (three of them being concerned with derivation, while two of them dealing with compounding). The results of the analysis showed considerable morphological productivity, whereas semantic productivity includes monosemic lexemes. However, it should be noted that the variety of suffixal morphemes leads to the enrichment of the given semantic group, which is perceived in more complex syntactic structures. | en_US |
