The subject of this paper is hate speech in Instagram comments. The aim of the research was to analyze the form and structure of hate speech. We used the comments on the Kurir Instagram page as our corpus. In the analyzed corpus, hate speech appears in the form of calls to violence, insulting words and expressions, and swear words. The main element of these forms are obscene words. We concluded that the main illocutionary effect of using calls to violence and swear words is aggression, while insults are used in insulting words and expressions. Hate speech reflects the stereotyping of the position of women in Serbian society, which refers to their instrumentalization and subjugation. Considering the great amount of hate speech in the media, this research made a small contribution to the treatment of this topic, but it is necessary to carry out more detailed and extensive research, both theoretical and corpus and experimental with respondents.en_US
