Metaforička konceptualizacija ciljnog domena VREME

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the conceptual as well as the linguistic metaphors that concretize the concept of TIME and the way in which they can be organized considering the source domains employed. The main approach is the cognitive-linguistic approach, both from the point of view of conceptual metaphor theory and conceptual integration theory (or blending theory). Metaphors that have TIME as the goal domain are chosen for this paper because there is a great number of papers on metaphoric mapping of the source domains (mainly we refer to the domains PATh, VERTIcAL ORIENTATION and MONEy) onto the goal domain TIME and these metaphors exhibit high level of consistency in mapping. The goal of this paper is to try and systemize the source domains mapping scheme when it comes to the examined goal domain.
