Due to the widespread understanding of clothing as an expression of the individual's personality and position in society, the Romans wanted clean, polished, shiny and white clothes in their wardrobe. Their needs were met by the fullers (fullones), with a complex treatment of clothes. At the beginning of the paper, the rights and obligations of the fuller and the user of the service are being considered, and in the second part, the complete procedure of the fuller's work with clothes is covered, which consists of treatment with detergents, washing, drying, polishing and treatment with sulfur and certain types of fuller's earth.en_US
