dc.description.abstractReading is a complex developmental and cognitive process, and even more so in a foreign language. The teacher plays a vital role in implementing different techniques in initial phases of teaching reading in English as a foreign language in elementary school. And yet, she should always bear in mind the long term aim - making lifelong readers. If the teacher is aware of all the factors and techniques that make up a beginning reading process, the goal will be achieved. My article presents some of the ways of successfully coping with the situation and leaving a few frustrations behind.en_US
