Abstract

Artificial intelligence today finds application in a field that until recently was reserved only for creative people. It is a visual art. For many people, artists still play a major role in the creative process. However, artists working with artificial intelligence do not create the artwork themselves, but develop software that in turn creates the work. Some artists see artificial intelligence systems only as a tool to work with, while others see these systems as a "colleague" with whom they create their works. In the paper, the author deals with the question of whether artificial intelligence in visual art becomes an artist itself or is it just another technical tool for creating author's works.
