dc.description.abstractReligious tourism represents one of the oldest forms of tourism. It is significant for promoting spiritual and cultural values of a nation. The subject of this paper is the overview of monasteries in the Republic of Serbia and their significant potential for positioning as destinations of religious tourism. The monasteries are analysed as a part of Serbian heritage. The recommendations for positioning Serbia as a destination of religious tourism are presented in the conclusionen_US
