dc.description.abstract | The paper deals with the analysis of Angels in America (Millennium Approaches and Perestroika) by Tony Kushner. The analysis is based on Kushner’s thesis that painful dismantling of the individual ego, that is the process of individuation and self-realization, is one of the ways to question the American myth of the Individual. The paper draws on Jung’s concept of individuation and Campbell’s monomyth to describe the journey of Roy Cohn, Joe Pitt, and Prior Walter and through their journey to present Kushner’s vision of the American society on the threshold of the third millennium. | en_US |
