Abstract

This paper aims to explain how Serbian courts determine their international jurisdiction in parental responsibility cases by applying the rules of the 1996 HCCH Child Protection Convention. After providing some remarks on the jurisdiction rules of the Convention and explaining the differences between them and Serbian national rules on international jurisdiction, the paper focuses on the presentation and short analysis of two cases decided by Serbian courts in which the jurisdiction rules of the Convention had been applied.
