O identitetu migranata na primeru romana Porijeklo Saše Stanišića

Abstract

Based on the worкs of prominent theorists of migration research and using the example of Saša Stanišić’s novel Where Do You Come From, this paper sought mechanisms through which the identity of refugees in the age of mass migration from the end of the 20th century and in the early 21st century is to be constructed. It is concluded that Stanišić does not understand the insistence on nation and race. He distances himself from the notion that origin clearly implies certain qualities and resists living within borders because he believes that identity is always evolving and that everyday experiences enrich it.
