dc.description.abstract | Since Italy has always been a frequent destination for travelers and has become a particular source of inspiration for authors, special attention is drawn to the book by Boris Maksimović, a young author from Banja Luka, Hadžiluk plemenitom snu, as in several chapters he records his impressions from travels across Apennine peninsula, offering readers, among other things, a detailed portrayal of the city of Bari. Adhering to the author’s premise from the chapter title that Bari is a story of saints and migrants, this paper examines the methods and techniques through which the author presents this southern city, with particular attention paid to a comparative analysis of Italian and Balkan cultures. Considering the author’s understanding of travel, we will aim to examine and present in more detail the common elements of these two cultural models, as well as how Maksimović subordinates them to the dominant and more encompassing Mediterranean culture. | en_US |
