In ancient Rome, various types of public performances filled the leisure of the population, but they were also an instrument of the internal policy of the emperors. Magnificent events of various forms, held in the forum, stadium, theater, arenas, left the impression of continuous entertainment for numerous spectators. However, in addition to the usual spectacularity for which they were known, such events also carried certain risks. For these reasons, their organization and implementation required compliance with certain rules.en_US
