Abstract

Science as an alethic model in Radoje Domanović's theory of the world represents a special thematic, highly symbolic space in which the heroes get their counter-confirmation from science. Predominantly sketched in Domanović's satirical stories, the phenomenon of science in the work of the Serbian writer spills over into literature, which actually draws a frame for science, therefore sustains its life, but at the same time exists as a Baudrillardian fate of the real. Our goal is to reactualize the question of the status of science in Domanović's thought, because it is the one that overwhelmes different semantic-semiotic fields: the theme becomes a hero, the commentary becomes a genre/paradigm, and the atmosphere of the story becomes an (epic) poem. Science, which is oriented towards the "external", as modern theories warn us, confirms its ambiguity precisely in the world of the external in a special way in the „moving story“ by Radoje Domanović.
