This paper deals with new literary phenomenon which have emerged from the context of the posthuman age, due to the expansion of the technological and informational coding in culture and human creativity in whole. First of all, the paper will present an overview of the concept of digital or electronic literature, her relation to the society of the 3rd and the 4th Industrial Revolution, as well as with the scholarship and academic discourses that tend to introduce it to the framework of literary theory and define it as such. Accessing the framework of the digital literature, the paper will bring out the most referential and common characteristic of the same, so as to make the associations with the literary work and poetics of two representers of the Latin-American fantastic realism – Jorge Luis Borges and Julio Cortázar. These associations will be established thanks to the concepts as hypertext and interactive reader, that both authors rely on, and that present the digital literature’s main characteristics. In that way it will be indicated to the possibilities of the new readings of their works as of precursors of the digital literature. Although the digital literature is bound to the age they couldn’t live of testify, their literature surely makes its foundations as palimpsest or literary substrate of a kind.en_US
