The development of information technologies, especially at the end of the 20th century and during the 21st century, has opened up a world of new, unimagined opportunities for work, advancement, learning, development of business activities, as well as in other spheres of social life. Facilitating everyday and business communications, accelerating numerous administrative procedures, and shortening production processes initially seemed like great opportunities for achieving greater social cohesion, finally returning people to their basic values, family, and themselves, and giving them more time for everything that our fast-paced lives have begun to take away from us. However, all products of information technology progress have had their good sides as well as their bad sides. The possibility of database abuse, for purposes other than those for which the database was created, easier (unauthorized) surveillance of all forms of communication have created new types of offenses and crimes that have been given the name ICT - that is, committed through the use of information and communication technologies. Abuse has spread to all spheres touched by the development of information technologies; no one is spared - children, young people, adults, the elderly, private individuals or business giants. The use of the Internet is becoming an abuse of the opportunities that the Internet provides, and fake news and unverified "facts" are spreading around the world at the speed of light. Now it is enough to tell a lie once and it becomes an undeniable truth, because its "truthfulness" is determined by the number of likes and shares (shared content). The imposed speed of life denies the integrity of long-term scientific verification of facts, and the Internet, instead of being the cause of progress, becomes the cause of everything else. In such a world, the benefits of the development of the information society are also reached by those who are not skilled enough, or simply want to shorten their path to a good income, without sufficiently considering the consequences of their actions. The paper presents some cases of violations of legal ethics in the part that relates to the expertise of lawyers in practicing the legal profession, the confidentiality of the relationship between a lawyer and a client and the protection of data that a client provides during the confidentiality relationship with a lawyer, as well as the development of cooperation and collegiality and respect for other colleagues and competent authorities before whom lawyers act, including the misuse of an artificial intelligence tool, known as ChatGPT. These cases have been recorded mainly in the area of application of the Anglo-American (case law) legal system (USA, New Zealand), but there are also recent cases in the EU (Italy).en_US
