The aim of this paper is to analyze the School Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Gymnasium in Novi Sad as a kind of bridge between national and European cultural heritage, as a place of memory (lieu de mémoire) in the way the French historian Pierre Nora uses this concept. Thereby, the paper focuses on specific educational and cultural heritage that this school promotes. The analysis will be based on the historical materials available in the Museum. This study will show how the School Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Gymnasium, as place of memory, functions as a meeting point of the past and the present, with an important educational mission that not only supports the collective memory but also provokes the re-interpretation of the national and international cultural heritage.en_US
