Abstract: Social entrepreneurship represents a form of entrepreneurial activity whose primary goal is to address social, economic, or environmental problems while simultaneously achieving sustainable economic performance. Unlike traditional businesses, the main value of social enterprises is not solely profit, but also contributing to the community and improving the quality of life of various groups of citizens, especially those who are socially or economically marginalized. In the Republic of Serbia, since the adoption of the Law on Social Entrepreneurship, this form of organization has gained particular importance and has rightfully attracted the attention of both theory and practice. In this paper, the author analyzes the key provisions of the mentioned law, highlighting both the positive and negative aspects of existing solutions in terms of normative, strategic, and institutional frameworks, as well as the broad social significance implied by social enterprises.
